When the solenoid energizes it pulls the plunger down, raises the blade so the tape dispenses, then when the power is off, the cutter spring pulls the blade through the tape cutting it and returning the yoke and plunger back to rest position.
Fits Better Pack models BP500, BP555e, BP555S, BP554, BP556 and BP555L gummed tape dispensers. (Old Better Pack part number E550)
If you hear a buzzing noise, check and clean the plunger.
