The E555-007-01 Top Heater Assembly is an OEM replacement part designed specifically for the Better Pack BP555e series gummed tape dispensers. Operating at low voltage, this heater warms the water at the tips of the moistening brushes to reactivate dried glue on water-activated tape, ensuring optimal adhesion.
If tape is not sticking properly, clean the E555-132-01 moistening brushes as most tapes require minimal heat.
To diagnose heater issues, test with a known good heater; in some cases, the main circuit board may be the cause of heater failure.
When installing, clean the plate under the heater from tape debris, lubricate shear guide rollers, and reinstall them properly.
For BP555eSA models, remember to transfer the tape sensor. Set the heater to about 2/3 open.
Every 6 months, lift the heater and scrape off adhesive buildup on its underside to prevent tape jams.
