The purpose of the heater is to warm up the water at the tips of the brush to reactivate the harden dried glues on water activated tape. If the tape is not sticking well we recommend cleaning the E555-132-01 moistening brushes. Most tapes require very little heat.
If the heater does not operate check the main circuit board by installing a like heater in known good condition to see if it heats. In some instances the main circuit board is at fault.
When replacing the heater, clean the plate that snaps under the heater of all tape debris. Make sure the shear guide rollers are oiled and reinstalled when you slide the shaft through the heater. If your machine is the BP555eSA you will also need to transfer the tape sensor. Set the heater to 2/3 open.
Every 6 months lift the heater and scrape any build up of adhesives off the underside of the heater. A build up of adhesives may cause the tape to jam.
